The administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Charles Bolden on Wednesday arrived in Addis Ababa on an official visit to Ethiopia, state television reported.
Bolden was quoted by the television as saying that his visit aims to offer support for Ethiopia's technology development drive.
He added that he would hold talks with Ethiopian officials on means of bolstering air aviation and space cooperation between the two sides.
Ethiopia said in September that it would launch a medium-sized research satellite in five years.
The U.S. embassy in Addis Ababa said in a statement earlier that Bolden would start a visit to Ethiopia, even without clarifying the duration of the NASA administrators' visit.
