Serum derived from blood of an infected patient who have overcome virus, says specialists.
An Ebola serum which was prepared from recovered Ebola patients' blood could be available within months in Liberia, the World Health Organization has said.
The announcement on Tuesday came after the number of patients suffering from the deadly-virus crossed the 9,000 mark in West Africa and the number of reported deaths stood at more than 4,500.
WHO Assistant Director General for Health Systems and Innovation Dr. Marie Paule Kieny said in Geneva: "This week, Switzerland will be receiving its first Ebola vaccines for testing."
"Many WHO staff, including myself, are volunteering to test these new vaccines," he added.
Drugs and vaccines for Ebola disease could be ready for January next year, WHO officials said.
